Long Island IVF Proudly Sponsors Long Island Pridefest 2017

By Tracey Minella

June 8th, 2017 at 3:59 pm

Long Island IVF is proud to once again be a major sponsor of this year’s LI Pridefest Weekend here on Long Island. Pridefest is really kicking it up a notch this year not only by moving the festivities to beautiful Long Beach, New York, but by offering a full weekend jam-packed with activities right on the beach. Does it get any better?

From beach parties, concerts, and the Rise with Pride parade to tons of other unique fun things like a carnival, 5K runs, drag bingo and a trapeze show, there is something for everyone’s tastes—singles, couples and families, young and old– and it runs from June 9-11, 2017. And we will be right there for all that Pride on the Beach!

LIIVF has been actively building families for the region’s LGBT community for decades due to its long-standing belief that every person has a right to be a parent and we have long-partnered with the Long Island’s LGBT Network. We pride our practice… which includes members of both the non-LGBT and LGBT communities… on acceptance and inclusion. And we address the unique aspects of LGBT family-building from both a personal and medical perspective. In many ways, your needs are the same as the non-LGBT community, but in some ways they are different. We get that.

Just stop by our booth at LI Pridefest Marketplace Fair on Sunday and meet some of the team. Our prior successful LGBT parents will stop by for impromptu reunions throughout the event, too, and are often eager to share their experiences as well. The Long Island IVF booth will be on the Boardwalk all day and night on Sunday June 11.

Not in the mood to chat long with all the festivities to see? We totally get that! Swing by and grab some of our informational brochures to read later. Enter our free raffle to win a relaxation basket! The forecast looks great, so come on down and meet us.

You can also get to know us later this month as we host “Family-Building the LGBT Way” on Thursday, June 29, 2017 from 6:30 until 8:30 pm. This very special event will be held in conjunction with the LGBT Network at Long Island IVF’s Melville office located at 8 Corporate Center Drive, Melville, New York.  Dr. Steven Brenner joins other key LIIVF team members to bring you a seminar on everything you ever wanted to know about today’s LGBT Family-Building options. Please pre-register here for this free event. You can also email Lindsay at with any questions. Light refreshments will be served.

Long Island IVF WINS “Best In Vitro Fertility Practice” in Best of Long Island 2015!

By admin

January 20th, 2015 at 2:28 pm

It is with humble yet excited hearts that we announce that Long Island IVF was voted the Best In Vitro Fertility Practice in the Best Of Long Island 2015 contest. Unlike prior years, for the 10th anniversary of the BOLI contest, there could only be one winner per category with no runners-up.

We just received word that we won. Thanks to all of you!

The doctors, nurses, embryologists, and the rest of the Long Island IVF staff are so proud of this honor and so thankful to each and every one of you who took the time to cast a vote in our favor. From the moms juggling LIIVF toddlers… to the dads coaching LIIVF teens…to the parents sending LIIVF adults off to college or down the aisles… to the LIIVF patients still on their journeys to parenthood who are confident in the care they’re receiving…we thank you all.

We love what we get to do every day…build families. And that’s all the thanks we really need. But your endorsement of us to your friends, families, and the public (by voting for us) means so much and will enable us to help even more infertile couples fulfill their dreams of building a family.

As we usher in 2015…our 27th year…we will continue to offer our unique blend of cutting-edge medical technologies and holistic, personal support… wrapped in the comfort of a private, non-hospital setting.

Thanks again. Happy New Year to all.

Long Island IVF’s 25th Anniversary Reunion Recap

By Tracey Minella

May 17th, 2013 at 9:14 pm

The only thing more perfect than the beautiful spring weather for Long Island IVF’s 25th Anniversary reunion party yesterday was the smiles on the faces of all of our babies and their grateful parents!

Every spring, Long Island IVF celebrates the births of our most recent IVF arrivals with a picnic for that year’s newborns and their parents. But this year…for our big anniversary…we opened it up to all 5,000+ couples whose families we’ve helped build over the past quarter century! Please “like” us on Facebook and check out some more reunion pictures there.

For those who don’t know, Long Island IVF was the practice to bring Long Island its first IVF baby, first FET/cryo baby, and first donor egg baby. The same doctors who co-founded Long Island IVF twenty-five years ago are still partners today.

We cherish every little life we’ve helped create, from the college grads to those being conceived today. But it was especially exciting to reunite with some of our oldest babies, now all grown-up, including the second baby born to Long Island IVF’s program, Alyssa.

Alyssa is the beautiful 24 year-old blonde in the picture with Dr. Kreiner. She and her mother came (her 21 year-old younger brother couldn’t make it) and they were instant “celebrities” as word spread throughout the crowd that Baby #2 was “in the house”. They each addressed the crowd, recalling how important Long Island IVF was in their lives, in a very emotional moment of the day that really helped bring home the magnitude of what Long Island IVF has meant to so many couples for 25 years and counting.

Other beautiful older babies were there. Some reiterated the same sentiment as they spoke about their lives…lives that would not have been possible without Long Island IVF. It was a humbling and gratifying experience for the whole Long Island IVF staff. As always, the fresh crop of adorable newborns and toddlers, decked out in their finest, were a joy to meet and gush over!

Everyone at Long Island IVF would like to thank all of the parents and children who came out to celebrate this very important milestone with us…and all those who were there in spirit, but were not able to come.

You and your families are beautiful. You all inspire us each day to do the work we love…building families. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for allowing us the privilege of building yours.

By Tracey Minella

April 15th, 2013 at 3:47 pm

Long Island IVF is pleased to offer an exciting series of seminars for National Infertility Awareness Week 2013. The five (5) seminars in our “Evenings of Education” series will be packed with information on many areas of interest to those trying to conceive. Each event will be led by a different expert at Long Island IVF.

All seminars, which will run for approximately two hours, will take place at our beautiful, centrally-located Melville offices at 8 Corporate Center Drive, Suite 101, Melville, New York and start at 6:30 pm. (Please note the one exception is “The Complete IVF Donor Egg Program” which starts at 7:00 pm). Refreshments will be served at all events. Pre-registration is encouraged.

These seminars are designed to answer all the questions you may have no matter where you are along your journey to parenthood. Maybe you know… or suspect… that you’re suffering from PCOS and worry about its impact on your fertility. Or maybe you’ve been trying to conceive and have been unable to get pregnant, or have suffered from recurrent miscarriages, and think it might be time to move on to an infertility specialist. Maybe you need help dealing with the stress of infertility itself, as well as the financial stress it can bring. Maybe you’re considering getting a second opinion or are questioning the whether the fit is right with your current reproductive endocrinologist.

Take the next step. Come to one…or all…of our seminars. Get a feel for the personal touch we bring to infertility treatment and see what makes our program different from those hospital-based programs that treat you like a number.

Long Island IVF …celebrating our 25th anniversary this year…is the first successful IVF program on Long Island. We brought Long Island its first IVF baby, its first FET baby, and its first donor egg baby. Come meet us during National Infertility Awareness Week. We’ll be looking forward to seeing you.

Remove Your Fertility Roadblock Tomorrow

By Tracey Minella

December 17th, 2012 at 9:48 pm

credit: stuart miles/

If you are infertile, what is preventing you from getting, or remaining, pregnant? For many it is a financial roadblock. Especially in this economy.

Infertility treatment has become more mainstream over the past twenty five years, with most people knowing someone who used assisted reproductive technologies, like IUI or IVF, to conceive. Happily, even the social stigma surrounding infertility is finally starting to disappear as people speak out about their infertility struggles and seek support from groups like RESOLVE and from infertility blogs (like this one!) and Facebook sites.

Success rates for IVF continue to rise and, depending on the clinic used and other variables may exceed 60% per cycle.

Despite these advances, few states mandate infertility coverage and most insurance policies do not cover IVF. Those lucky few who have IVF coverage may exhaust that benefit’s maximum without conceiving. That leaves the majority of people who need IVF unable to afford it to start or grow their families.

Many of today’s women cannot continue to wait out this poor economy in order to afford IVF. The stress of being denied access to the medical care needed in order to conceive is unbearable. And it’s made worse by hearing that proverbial ‘biological clock’ ticking louder and louder as more time passes.

But you can take action today…actually tomorrow…to try to change all that.

The Family Act is legislation pending in both the House and Senate which if passed will provide a federal tax credit of over $13,000.00 for infertility treatment like IVF (or for fertility preservation in the case of cancer patients). We have never been so close to getting federally mandated assistance with the costs of IVF. But we need your help.. and we need it tomorrow night!

Long Island IVF and RESOLVE the National Infertility Association have teamed up to present New Yorkers with a unique public forum to discuss and advocate for the passage of the Family Act. It is a Town Hall event open to the public, our patients, local politicians, and national fertility advocates. Dr. Steven Brenner and well-known fertility advocate Amy Demma, Esq. are two of the speakers. Follow Long Island IVF, RESOLVE, and Amy Demma on Twitter so you don’t miss any updates on this legislation.

Please join us tomorrow night. One hour. Make a difference. Together we may have the power to take away the pain of infertility for many…those suffering today and those who will suffer in the future.

Would $13,000+ make a difference in your journey?

Here are the details:

Long Island IVF Hosts Important Family Act Town Hall Event!

By Tracey Minella

December 10th, 2012 at 1:18 pm

Long Island IVF, in conjunction with RESOLVE the National Fertility Association, is extremely proud and excited to host the New York metropolitan area’s Town Hall event where the public can learn more about how to support the Family Act bill and meet their elected officials.

The Family Act will provide a tax credit in excess of $13,000 to help offset the costs of IVF infertility treatment. It also provides a credit for fertility preservation costs for those facing cancer. (For more information on the Family Act, please read the article below).

The Town Hall event will be held at the Long Island IVF office at 8 Corporate Center Drive, Suite 101, Melville, New York, on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. Local representatives have been invited. Come out to show your support for this important bill. And bring your friends.

Long Island IVF’s Dr. Steven Brenner will be the keynote speaker at the event. Additional speakers, including elected officials or RESOLVE Board members in attendance, are possible as well. Local OBGYNs and oncologists also support this legislation and will be present. Light refreshments will be served.

The purpose of the event is to discuss the Family Act, show your elected officials that you support a tax credit for IVF, and to learn how you can help advocate for its passage. There will be letters available for attendees to fill in and sign, which LIIVF will forward to the appropriate political officials.

Please encourage your friends and family to attend this important event. We have never been so close to obtaining federal assistance with the costs of IVF as we are right now. But we need everyone’s help to make it happen. Share this information. Ask your OBGYN if they will attend this event, or share the details with their patients. Share it with anyone you know who has been touched by infertility or fertility-robbing cancer treatment.

For many people, the passage of the Family Act may be the difference between becoming a parent someday or not. Do it for yourself. Do it for future generations.

With a potential $13,000 + tax credit on the line for IVF, can you afford not to come out and support this bill next Tuesday? Please make the time. Even one hour.

In this busy season of miracles, your support of this legislation could be the best gift you’ll ever give.

There is no cost to attend this event. Please RSVP to Long Island IVF: Email or or call Nicole or Bridgette at 631-752-0606. We look forward to seeing you there! Please bring your friends.

LIIVF’s “Every Baby’ s Beautiful” Pageant Parade Video

By Tracey Minella

June 19th, 2012 at 10:08 pm

When I was doing IVF, one of the things I focused on when I’d get discouraged was the annual Long Island IVF reunion. It was my dream to get to that picnic with my little miracle. Some day, I vowed, I’m gonna get there.

In the summer of 1998, I got my chance and it was every bit as exciting as I’d imagined it’d be. Back then, all babies were still invited. It was a barely manageable crowd due to the years of successful baby-making. They used to bring in a crane or cherry-picker fire truck just to be able to get a photo of the crowd of families.

These days, they unfortunately have to limit the reunion to the most recent “class” of babies born through the program. So they decided to make it an exciting outing for the little attendees.

Check out the footage of LIIVF’s littlest wonders and their beaming parents at the recent reunion luncheon:

Have you been to a reunion yet? If so, how was it? If not, does the thought of it keep you going in rough times?

Long Island IVF: Back to the Future 2012

By Tracey Minella

January 2nd, 2012 at 7:54 pm

Happy New Year to all of the friends and patients of Long Island IVF and East Coast Fertility.

As you probably know, these two powerhouse infertility practices have recently merged, and will now be known as Long Island IVF.

People by nature don’t like change. And when it happens to something as important as one’s chosen fertility practice, it’s bound to make some of you uncomfortable or nervous. Add the raging hormones, and you may be ready to kill…

Well, I have something very important to share that should make you all not only comfortable, but excited about this change. It is a short history lesson. Don’t you dare click away.

Back in the 80’s when IVF was pretty new, East Coast Fertility’s Dr. Kreiner and Long Island IVF’s Drs. Kenigsberg, Brenner, and Droesch were practicing together as Long Island IVF. These IVF pioneers were the first to bring IVF success to Long Island.

Long Island IVF has bragging rights to:

Long Island’s First IVF baby…

Long Island’s First Cryo baby…

Long Island’s First Donor Egg baby!

Now here’s the exciting part: After 10 years of growing as two separate practices, they are finally all back together again. This is not an experiment between strangers…these guys couldn’t know each other better! It’s the perfect union of high-tech and high-touch. So it’s wonderful for their patients.

And I should know. I was a patient when they were originally together. I also worked as a medical assistant beside all of those doctors (and many of the nurses). So you’ll have to trust me that I am doing a happy dance jig right now that they are back together again!

Everything a patient could want in an infertility practice is now available in one unified practice, including but not limited to:

·         Impressive success rates;

·         Center of Excellence distinction;

·         Payment options, grant, and refund programs;

·         Mind/Body, Acupuncture, Patient counseling, and Patient support programs;

·         Outstanding Donor Egg Program;

·         Single Embryo Transfer Program (w/free cryo, free storage, and free cryo transfers*);

·         Micro-IVF Program ($3,900 mini-IVF program*);

·         Experienced and compassionate medical staffs;

·         Locations all over Long Island, and Brooklyn.

So I ask you to think back to 1988. How old were you? Elementary school, maybe? Still playing with dolls? Well, these doctors were already together making babies by then.

When I needed them in 1992, they already had the reputation as the best on Long Island. I worked for them for six years back then. Dr. Kenigsberg did my transfer when I got pregnant with my daughter and Dr. Kreiner did the transfer with my son. I can’t say enough about the individual genius of these two doctors, and the collective genius of all of LI-IVF’s doctors. There is certainly a doctor with a style and personality that will suit yours.

I’m telling you as a grateful IVF mother and former patient and medical assistant, that you could not be in better hands. The doctors, nurses, and embryologists who created my family are together again to help you build yours. I am so happy for all of you and hope that 2012 will be the year all your dreams come true.

You can start doing YOUR happy dance jig now!

Do you have any questions or concerns about the merger of the practices? Please ask.

*please see  website for further details on these programs
