We’ve hosted some fun gatherings in the past, but the Long Island Brew for the Family 2015 ranks right up there among the all-time best. It was a SOLD-OUT event!
Last Thursday, over a hundred hopeful infertile folks… many joined by their friends and families… kicked back at the Great South Bay Brewery and enjoyed a night full of music, tons of delicious food, multiple samplings of craft beers, a brewery tour, vendor giveaways, souvenir glasses, and a silent auction. Many of the LIIVF doctors were mingling with the crowd. There was so much going on in this hip, relaxed setting that it may even have distracted the attendees’ attention—briefly– from the prize most of them came hoping to win… the free IVF cycle door prize donated by Long Island IVF.
The event was co-sponsored by the Tinina Q. Cade Foundation, a nationally-recognized charitable organization dedicated to helping people overcome infertility. The Cade Foundation fundraising events raise money for infertility education as well as for grants of up to $10,000 to off-set the costs of infertility treatment or adoption expenses. Many other regional sponsors also contributed, including Kings Pharmacy. Kraupner Pharmacy, EMD Serono, Enzo, South Shore Acupuncture and Fertility Wellness, Morgan Stanley, Acupuncture for Fertility, Counsyl, Damianos Realty Group, Suffolk County Acupuncture and more.
The event venue and theme was appealing to local infertile couples, who live with the stress of infertility. It offered them a chance to relax for a few hours and reconnect with each other or the friends who came to support them and help increase their chances to win the transferable free IVF cycle door prize. In fact, it was a brother-sister team who won the prize this year. The sister needed IVF and her brother attended to give her a second chance at the prize. Their shrieking, hugging and high-fiving celebration upon winning won’t soon be forgotten.
As happy as we are to offer this door prize to a lucky winner, our hearts did break along with those of the other hopefuls who came out that night. If you were one of them, we’d like you to know that there is still hope. We strongly encourage you to apply for one of the Cade Foundation’s Family Building Grants, which are awarded twice per year and allow you to use your choice of fertility practice. Because the grants are for up to $10,000 each and they don’t have to be repaid, it’s like a second chance to win that free IVF cycle. The deadline for the current fall grant program cycle ends on July 1, 2015 so please go check that out and apply today. All you need is to be a legal permanent US resident with a medical diagnosis of infertility. It’s easy. http://bit.ly/1GwCvXk
There are also several grants available at Long Island IVF, including the exclusive, new Jade IVF Grant, so please call the office and speak to a financial services rep for more details.
The doctors and staff of Long Island IVF thank everyone who attended or was in any way involved in the Brew for the Family event for supporting this worthy fundraiser designed to help overcome infertility. See you at the next big event!

To say it’s a struggle to pay for IVF while meeting the high cost of living on Long Island is an understatement. It can take some couples without IVF medical coverage a few years to save up for an IVF cycle…ever aware of the ticking biological clock.
Extreme, long-term sacrifices are made. A dream is put on hold. Everyone else is pregnant.
It’s enough to make a couple, well, jaded.
But sometimes, “jaded” can be a good thing…
Long Island IVF is pleased to announce the availability of yet another IVF grant…the Jade Foundation IVF Grant…to help suffering infertile couples build their families.
Through an endowment from generous benefactors, the Jade Foundation IVF Grant was created for and is offered exclusively at Long Island IVF. It is funded to provide financial assistance to couples who lack insurance coverage to meet the IVF cycle expenses needed to build the family of their dreams. Qualified patients will pay a cost share amount (their out-of-pocket expense) based on total household income level.
Funding through this grant program will be allocated for basic services related to an IVF fresh cycle (and exclude other types of treatment cycles such as: frozen cycles, egg donation cycles, surrogacy cycles, elective egg freezing cycles as well as the more complex embryology services such as preimplantation genetic diagnosis or screening (PGD /PGS ). Priority is given to first time parents and to those who have served or are currently serving in the US military.
Eligibility: In order to be eligible, applicants must:
- be less than 35 years of age;
- have documented infertility;
- meet clinical criteria;
- be residents of Long Island, Queens or Brooklyn; and
- have a combined household income between $50,000 and $99,999 annually; and
- have commercial medical insurance coverage which either does not cover IVF treatments or for which they have exhausted their benefits.
Application Process: If new to our practice, interested patients should contact the Long Island New Patient Counselor at (631) 752-0606. Patients who are already in treatment with us should contact their Long Island IVF Financial Counselor to learn more about this grant. Although there is no required application form, applicants must submit proof of residency and income. Grant awards are contingent upon grant funding availability. Unlike loans, the funds provided to couples through this Jade Foundation IVF Grant program do not have to be paid back.
Just a point of clarification…
The Jade Foundation IVF Grant is exclusively available at and through Long Island IVF. It should not be confused with the Cade Foundation’s IVF grants, which are also wonderful opportunities for infertile folks nationwide to build their families. That said, please see below for news on how you can have a great night out and also qualify to win a Free IVF cycle door prize donated by Long Island IVF in its “Brew For The Family” event on June 4th, co-sponsored by Cade. (Confusing, right?) But it’s all good stuff.
Whether you go for Jade, or Cade, or both, we look forward to seeing you soon.

Would winning a free IVF cycle make a difference in your life or the life of someone you know?
Has the stress of infertility and the depression that often comes with it caused you and your partner to withdraw from social situations? Are you slipping away from your friends and family because you just don’t feel like going out? Are date nights few and far between?
Well, we’re going to change that. At least for one special night in June.
Long Island IVF has again partnered with the Cade Foundation’s to bring you another first of its kind event….Brew for the Family …and it’s coming this summer on Thursday, June 4, 2015 from 7:30-10:00 pm at the Great South Bay Brewery in Bay Shore, N.Y.
Each attendee will have a chance to win a great door prize: A FREE IVF CYCLE donated by Long Island IVF*.
Let me repeat that. Every attendee has a chance to win that free IVF cycle door prize (and VIP ticket holders will have two chances!). So gather all your friends and family…you know, all those folks who love you and have been saying how they wish they could help you in some way…and come out for a fun night at the brewery. If they win the free IVF cycle prize, they can transfer it to YOU!
In addition to giving one lucky winner the chance to have a baby, we’re out to have a fun night at one of Long Island’s premier microbreweries and spread the message the infertility can be overcome! All attendees will enjoy beer sampling, a brewery tour, a souvenir glass, tons of great food, music, and a silent auction. In addition to all that, VIP ticket holders will also enjoy additional beer samplings, a private guided brewery tour with a master brewer, access to the VIP lounge, and a second ticket for the IVF cycle door prize.
The three (3) different ticket options are as follows:
Regular Tickets $55.00
Ticket includes entrance to the event, 6 beer tastings, private tour and a single entry into the drawing for the free IVF cycle door prize.
|Date Night Package $100.00 Ticket includes entrance for two into the event, 6 beer tastings each, brewery tour, and TWO entries into the drawing for a free IVF cycle door prize.|
|VIP Ticket $90.00 Ticket includes entrance for one into the event, sampling of 9 craft beers, private guided brewery tour by a master brewer, commemorative souvenir glass, access to the VIP lounge, a beer themed gift bag, and TWO entries into the drawing for a free IVF cycle door prize.|
Last year, we brought you Dancing for the Family, which was a ton of fun. Now we’re changing it up and going for the suds! So raise a glass (or up to six) and forget infertility for the night. Non-alcoholic options available, too, of course!
Remember: The coveted door prize is even transferable once*, so encourage your generous friends and family… who may not personally need the Free IVF cycle… to join you at this special event to help increase your odds of winning.
Why not make it a party! Share this event with your friends and bring your own crowd! Who wouldn’t like a night at the brewery?!
While we wish every attendee could win the free IVF cycle, and there’s bound to be disappointment among those who don’t win it, we hope you’ll leave with an overall feeling of satisfaction for being part of this ground-breaking event, since all proceeds raised will enable the Tinina Q. Cade Foundation to offer education-based programming and Family-Building grants to help people overcome infertility. All attendees are strongly encouraged to learn more about the great work the Cade Foundation does and to apply for one of their Family Building Grants for up to $10,000 in financial assistance to pursue fertility treatment or adoption. Visit their website at www.cadefoundation.org. Oftentimes, there are more grants to give away than people who apply for assistance, so be sure to check it out. The application process is easy.
To purchase tickets and learn more about this event please visit: www.librewforthefamily.eventbrite.com.
A portion of each ticket may be tax deductible. See details on the Eventbrite link. Don’t delay. Tickets are first-come, first-served. Click the link and reserve your spot today! Go on. Click. Now.
Someone will win that free IVF cycle*.

Chances are, if you are struggling with infertility, one of the biggest obstacles is the financial burden of the fertility treatments. A New Year often causes infertile couples without the benefit of infertility treatment insurance to revisit their family-building plans and reassess their options.
Some forgo the usual things like fine-dining, vacations, houses, new cars, and other luxuries of a typical life, putting the savings into their treatment. Many work over-time or take second jobs. Others max out credit cards, dip into retirement funds, or borrow from family. And some raise treatment money through on-line fundraising campaigns.
What if there was an easier way…a free way…to finance IVF (or fund an adoption)? You’d consider it, right?
Well, there is a grant opportunity you should consider pursuing that is offering grants of up to $10,000 to use toward your family-building goals. That’s money you don’t have to pay back. Enough to pay for all or a substantial portion of an IVF cycle or an adoption. But you need to act quickly because there is a February 1 deadline for the Spring Grant Cycle.
You may remember that Long Island IVF co-sponsored an exciting event last year…Dancing For the Family… with the Tinina Q. Cade Foundation. Not only did Long Island IVF donate a free IVF cycle as a door prize, but the event raised money that enables the Cade Foundation to fund these family-building grants. All you need to do now is apply.
Don’t like forms? Think you’ll never be chosen? Well, you’re in good company. Do you realize that so many people think like that, or are just beaten down by the stress of infertility, that there are often more funds than applicants for grants like these?! That’s right…grant money is often sitting there waiting for applicants to apply for it! And that’s a shame.
To apply, go here: http://www.cadefoundation.org/?page_id=10
And keep your eyes open for upcoming news of this year’s Long Island IVF and Cade Foundation new and exciting event.

It was a blur. Glossy wood floors, brass accents, perfect lighting. Intoxicating music and palpable excitement filled the air.
Stepping off the red carpet and into the breath-taking Dance With Me Studio… onto the very dance floor that Dancing With the Stars® champion dancers have graced… made most attendees feel like celebrities themselves.
Be sure to check out a slideshow of some of the photos on our website and Facebook page and You Tube http://youtu.be/w5_mHGkl4Xk
And, like those champions, many attendees were on that floor with the dream of winning. Not a trophy, but something even better… a chance to build a family. They were there hoping to win the free IVF cycle door prize donated by Long Island IVF for themselves or a loved one.
And while there were understandably some disappointed hearts, every attendee should realize that as a result of their support of this event, the Cade Foundation raised funds that will be used to help infertile couples receive education and financing opportunities for fertility treatment or adoption. In fact, ideas for next year’s big event are already being discussed.
Nothing brings us greater satisfaction than being able to give away such a valuable door prize as an IVF cycle to a couple struggling to conceive and who would not otherwise be able to proceed with their infertility treatment.
This year’s winner donated the IVF cycle to her friend. We wish her, and everyone still on their journey, the best of luck.

On Saturday night, Long Island IVF and the Cade Foundation hosted a fabulous infertility fundraiser…Dancing for the Family… at the breathtaking Dance With Me studio in Glen Head, NY—home of Dancing with the Stars® champion dancers.
There was music and dancing with all attendees enjoying professional dance lessons. Food and drinks and desserts for all. A silent auction. All for only $65. And perhaps the best part: a fabulous door prize of a free IVF cycle, valued at approximately $10,000 to help one infertile couple start or build their family. To have a baby through a treatment they otherwise may not be able to afford.
This free IVF cycle was transferable, meaning that someone could win it for someone else. So friends and family could come down and not only have a fun night, but could possibly become some couple’s hero by winning the prize for them. So many people who are open about their infertility struggle have loved ones who want to help them and this was the perfect opportunity.
And that’s what happened on Saturday night. Someone won it for her friend. What a gift! Can you imagine what happened between them when she shared the news?
Plenty of folks were out there on the dance floor, taking advantage of this fabulous opportunity to win the chance for themselves or their friends to have a baby. They all enjoyed a fun evening while also raising money for the Cade Foundation to continue to fund infertility and adoption grants and educational programs in our area and throughout the country. But…there was room for more. The night had it all: music, dance lessons, food, drinks, dessert and the best door prize imaginable. And everyone who came felt the magic in the air.
So…where were you?
Seriously, we want to know what kept those of you we missed from attending. Because we want you there the next time. Would you take a moment to let us know?
Did you not hear about the event in time? Was the ticket too costly? Did you stay away for privacy concerns? Was the location inconvenient? Was the dance night theme unappealing? Was the date inconvenient or did it conflict with other vacation plans? Was it something else?
Help us help you. Let us know what kept you and your friends from being part of this fabulous event. Your suggestions may help us plan our next amazing event.
And for those who were there…thank you for making it such a special night. We know that not winning the door prize hurts. A lot. That’s the hard part for us, too. But we encourage you all to research the grant options available through Long Island IVF and the Cade Foundation on our respective websites. And keep following us for any future special events.

Everyone knows someone who is suffering from infertility. And you wish you could do something to help.
Now you can.
Some infertile people suffer in silence and unnecessary shame. Others are open about the devastation of wanting a baby but not being able to have one without medical intervention. And sadly, not being able to afford costly medical treatments like in vitro fertilization (IVF) is the number one reason some people will never become parents.
Who do you know that is suffering? Is it you? Your best friend? A sibling or co-worker? Maybe your own grown child or grandchild? What about that wonderful, child-loving person…that favorite “aunt” to everyone else’s kids… who would make the perfect mom but, oddly, hasn’t had a child of her own yet?
These people need you. Now.
It is time for a random act of kindness. Now.
Here is how you can be a hero today. Buy a ticket to our Dancing for the Family event this Saturday August 23, 2014. Long Island IVF is donating a Free IVF cycle as a door prize at the event. The value of this prize is approximately $10,000 in monetary terms. But for a couple who needs to win it in order to build a family…it’s priceless. How to you put a value on a family?
The Free IVF cycle is TRANSFERABLE*. This is HUGE. It means you can win it for someone you love…or even someone you just like a lot. If you can use it yourself, you’ve likely dreamt of how it would feel to win it. But for those who don’t need it for themselves, just picture how overwhelmed your suffering friend or family member would be if you presented them with this opportunity to get pregnant? Can you even imagine that moment?
How often do we get a chance to make a real difference in someone’s world on a large scale? Like an entrepreneur or charitable organization can? Wouldn’t we all love to have $10,000 or more to help someone in need? Well, here is that chance. It’s not cash, but it’s a potentially life-changing opportunity which may literally deliver a priceless gift.
An evening of music, professional dance lessons, food, drink, desserts, a silent auction…all in the breath-taking home dance studio of Dancing With the Stars® champions! So order your ticket today and we’ll be seeing you at Dance With Me Studios in Glen Head, NY on Saturday night from 6-9 pm. Tickets are limited. Get your friends together and come out for a good time and a good cause.

There are two separate events next Saturday, August 23 and while they are both being hosted by Long Island IVF and the Tinina Q. Cade Foundation, they are very different.
The first is a free public educational forum at the Jericho Public Library called “Different Pathways Toward Parenthood”. The second event, “Dancing for the Family” begins later that evening at Dance With Me Long Island studios in Glen Head, and it requires a ticket.
Here’s how you might score a free general admission ticket (valued at $65) to the Dancing for the Family event.
Show up at 1pm on August 23rd at the Jericho Public Library for The Cade Foundation and Long Island IVF’s free seminar on fertility and adoption including medical, legal, psychological, donor and acupuncture services.
As a teaser I am showing you the medical version. Watch this video carefully before the seminar. http://youtu.be/BCOuAPckKVI
I will ask a question at the seminar that comes from this video.
The first individual who answers correctly wins a free ticket to our fabulous event…“Dancing for the Family”… later that same evening. This infertility benefit is being held at Maks, Val and Tony’s (from Dancing with the Stars®) Dance With Me Studio in Glen Head, Long Island from 6- 9 pm. It includes dance lessons, drinks, hors d’oeuvres, desserts, and a silent auction. One attendee will win a free IVF cycle door prize donated by Long Island IVF.
